Quincy and Plumas County

Rugged canyons, crystal clear lakes, grassy meadows, trout-filled streams, fresh pine forests, brilliant star-filled skies – they all await you in the picturesque Feather River Canyon and Plumas County. Located in northeastern California, where the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges meet, Plumas County boasts more than 100 lakes, 1,000 miles of rivers and streams and more than one million acres of natural forest. The town of Quincy (pop. 5,000) offers many conveniences from a health food co-op to supermarkets, ATM, health club, restaurants and a movie house. Summer activities include scenic mountain and road bicycling, swimming in area lakes and rivers, and much more.

Weather

Summers in Quincy are very warm during the day and cool (low 50s) at night. Rainfall is rare during the summer but you should bring light rain gear just in case. Get the Quincy Weather Forecast.

Feather River Warning

Though the Feather River next to Hwy 70 looks beautiful and inviting, it is deceptively dangerous. People have drowned while wading in the Feather River after the festival. You can cool down with a swim in the Pioneer Pool, and you may enjoy the river from a safe distance, but please do not swim or wade in the feather river under any circumstances.

Quincy Shuttle

Information to be announced Spring of 2022.

Drive safely. The California Highway Patrol is a vigilant presence on the roads leading into the fairgrounds. Hwy 70 into and out of Quincy is a beautiful drive through the Feather River Canyon. However, it is a winding road with lots of turns, upgrades and downgrades. Please be careful when traveling on this road. Sleep before you hit the road, and always be aware of your surroundings. Simple advice, but many of us neglect these things and sadly this has led to fatalities. Sleep deprivation has been the direct cause of automobile-related deaths following the festival. Please be smart and drive safely.
